Rasean Davonté Johnson’s projections (programmed by Michael Commendatore) are out of this world, especially the stained-glass window effects featuring a black Jesus and black angels. There are also moving projections that are effective, as when Kenny and Logan are riding in the back of a car. It's awesomely accomplished, like watching the old POV videos of driving tests where YOU are the driver, but is it completely necessary? You get the feeling it's the Asolo technical team flexing their hefty tech muscles and showing off...because they can. Peter Nason Broadway World
